This movie is blatant, straightforward conservative propaganda—and it's upfront about that. It’s the kind of propaganda you might have seen back in the eighties, before things got completely out of hand. But unlike *Red Dawn*, which also falls into the category of eighties conservative messaging, *Red Scorpion* just isn't very good. Everything feels excessive—the politics are overbearing, there’s an abundance of nudity, and even the weightlifting is too much. The result is a poorly constructed action film that’s almost impossible to sit through.
