Simon Rex portrays "Mikey," a struggling ex-porn star who finds himself having to move back in with his estranged former spouse, "Lexi" (Bree Elrod), and her mother, "Lil" (Brenda Deiss). He's relegated to sleeping on their sofa and unable to find employment, which leads him into dealing drugs. It’s through this that he encounters "Strawberry" (Suzanna Son), a young and naive employee at a doughnut shop. Mikey uses his charm, and they hatch a plan to run away together, intending to use $3,000 obtained through illegal means. However, his ex-wife, her mother, and a local drug distributor aren't enthusiastic about their scheme. The movie has moments of clever pacing and some genuinely funny scenes, but I felt the storyline was rather weak and easy to anticipate as it progressed. It seems like a fairly realistic depiction of life in a rural Texas trailer park, though it didn’t really resonate with me. The runtime of over two hours felt excessive for the subject matter, and apart from Brenda Deiss's notably eccentric performance, I think this would be better suited for television than a theatrical release.
