A former FBI profiler, Will Graham, portrayed by Ed Norton, is drawn back into a disturbing partnership with Hannibal Lecter – the man who once nearly killed him – as they pursue the "Tooth Fairy," played by Ralph Fiennes. This killer is terrorizing Baltimore, committing gruesome murders of two families each month during the full moon. Norton delivers a strong performance, skillfully portraying an agent struggling emotionally while also being intensely focused on his work. Though appearing less often, Hopkins maintains his chilling presence, and Fiennes embodies a disturbing sense of madness and malice. The combination of these performances, along with Ted Tally’s skillful adaptation of Robert Harris' novel, produces a gripping and suspenseful drama that keeps you on edge. It doesn’t have the same feel or speed as the 1991 film that followed it; maybe because time has allowed audiences to fully appreciate how well-defined these characters originally were. Nevertheless, this is an enjoyable experience blending horror with wickedness into a story that's often intensely suspenseful.
