It proved to be an enjoyable cinematic experience, and Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton have a pleasant rapport onscreen. However, it doesn’t measure up to the original film; that earlier movie's last few minutes and its surprise reveal were exceptional, and even the preceding scenes were quite good. This one feels diminished because of that twist, and the script isn't as strong. Despite this, I found myself entertained, and a number of the action sequences really stood out. It’s also rewarding to see Sarah Michelle Gellar in a significant part. **3.5/5**
