Razorback feels like the ideal choice for a relaxed night at home, enjoying something simple with a refreshing drink. Taking place in the Australian outback and adapted from Peter Brennen’s novel, it's been described as "Jaws on trotters." It falls into the category of “eco horror.” The story centers around an incredibly large hog or wild boar causing problems for a small community in the outback. Following this, Jake Cullen is suspected of harming his grandson, but charges are dismissed because there wasn’t enough proof to convict him; he then decides to seek retribution. Simultaneously, someone concerned with animal welfare covertly records poachers using illegally hunted kangaroos to make dog food. They're confronted by the Baker Brothers, who seem unstable. Beth, the activist, is subsequently killed by the boar. The direction of the plot becomes fairly clear at this point; I’m not going to spoil how things conclude, as it’s best experienced firsthand. Overall, it proved to be an enjoyable and bloody experience. There's an "unofficial" remake titled "Boar," which appears worthwhile. However, I feel obligated to mention that The Baker Brothers are shown hitting a dog with their vehicle, something that might distress those who care about animals.
