It isn’t really horror in the traditional sense, though. Initially, I assumed it would be about a medical student, but things quickly became strange. It reminded me of when I was younger and felt uneasy with certain films—this one felt very real. While I didn't enjoy the content itself, the film achieved what it seemed to set out to do. The title proved accurate, although I felt like it was poking fun at vegetarians. You don’t often encounter many in Europe, but the subject matter of this movie was quite odd. It’s unsettling to imagine someone who has never eaten meat suddenly developing an uncontrollable urge, and that happening with two people from the same family is even more disturbing—clearly they weren't familiar with what they were doing. Justine is about to begin her veterinary studies alongside her sister, coming from a vegetarian household. She’s forced to navigate some college traditions, which immediately don’t go smoothly for her. It began to affect her health and body, leading to drastic changes in a short time and triggering an uncontrollable desire. Then, during an accidental encounter, things escalated further, ultimately causing a conflict between the sisters that leads them down unexpected paths, culminating in a series of disturbing events. > -xX] An animal that has tasted human flesh isn't safe. This is a challenging film to experience, and I realize that might sound like an exaggeration for what is essentially a cinematic performance, but that’s truly how I felt. You may understand it better if you give it a chance yourself. The story gets somewhat confusing as it unfolds—it's unclear what kind of world this is set in because seemingly no one cares about what happens to Justine. Where were the professors? There are so many questions. It’s simply presented as an imaginative scenario, exploring how a “what if” situation could become even more unpleasant. However, upon closer examination, it seems the core issue is the cannibalism itself—not just someone suddenly craving meat. I appreciate the writing, direction, and performances, but this isn't really my kind of movie; it probably won’t be for most people either. This film isn’t for everyone, only a select audience. Films can be anything, and ultimately it comes down to whether you enjoy them or not. The filmmakers knew exactly what they were doing and the subject matter they chose. Often films like this appear and generate discussion among critics and moviegoers. I'm unsure how one should decide if it’s worth watching because it isn't intended for entertainment, as art, or to convey a message. Nevertheless, I still think it’s worth seeing—just be aware of what you’re getting into. _6/10_
