The film makes some significant changes from what it's based on, and those alterations seem almost required. There aren’t many things to fault with _Rampage_, aside from an apparent dependence on familiar tropes, but equally, there isn’t much that really impresses either. Dwayne Johnson is likable as always, and the look of the monsters is adequate, though ultimately this felt like a movie you simply allowed to unfold before you; it's possible to leave feeling somewhat amused, although certainly not particularly moved or improved by the experience. _Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole._
