Sylvester Stallone feels right at home playing the title character, a Vietnam veteran who’s found peace in a small town by offering tours on his weathered PT boat. He reluctantly agrees to take on a job from some human rights activists wanting to use his vessel to locate missing Christian Aid missionaries deep within war-torn Burma. Before long, they find themselves facing intense danger at the hands of the merciless "Maj. Tint," portrayed by Muang Muang Khin. The film is consistently focused on action, featuring numerous explosive sequences and quite explicit depictions of violence that feel realistic because they’re inspired by actual accounts of mistreatment in Southeast Asia during the 1970s. While the script's lines are a little over-the-top, the strength lies in the characters, with Stallone, Graham McTavish ("Lewis"), and Julie Benz ("Sarah") contributing to a tense story that doesn’t try to convey a particular message but instead prioritizes impactful execution.
