The film begins by depicting the difficulties involved in gaining citizenship, a process that seems inherently challenging for those pursuing a fresh start, whether alone or with loved ones. Disturbing revelations are surfacing throughout the story. It’s becoming clear that wealth can genuinely damage a person's character. This movie is really unsettling me, but I suppose it succeeds in showing how awful these characters are through the actors’ performances. The methods of control employed are understated yet intensely malicious; I find it difficult to grasp how such appalling actions could be seen as justifiable ways to achieve one's goals.
