It’s disappointing to see how the Bond movies have been handled. Eon productions abandoned the energetic, enjoyable style that had kept the series going for four decades, and the result is something like this film. It’s shockingly dull and unremarkable. If you took "Bond" off the title, there would be nothing to suggest it was a James Bond movie at all. It's disheartening that so many years of enjoyable films were discarded simply to please viewers who don’t appreciate the traditional Bond adventures. They tried to broaden the appeal by creating a standard action film, and in doing so, they damaged what made Bond special. Who is this plain, short, blond man wearing a suit? Sadly, _he could be anybody_—even an average person like myself. Bond has been reduced to an ordinary guy who drinks beer. Ian Fleming would surely be outraged. There’s no possibility of seeing a Bond character wear something silly like _a plastic seagull hat_, as Connery did in Goldfinger (1964)—they wouldn't risk making the films fun and engaging anymore. It’s truly sad to see what has become of the Bond movies.
