This horror movie unfolds gradually, though perhaps not intensely enough. I want to clarify something upfront: angst and anger aren't interchangeable. I’ve seen numerous descriptions of Leah as being consumed by angst, but that term means fear or anxiety, often about what’s to come—it’s distinct from anger. Leah is a teenager living with her mother, who is still mourning. She enjoys black metal and has an interest in the occult. While she's struggling with the loss of her father alongside her mother, she isn't completely out of control; she still shows respect for her mom. The mother then decides they need to leave their family home and move to a cabin in the woods. Following a significant disagreement, the frustrated teenager calls upon a demon, witch, or some kind of entity with the intention of harming her mother, only to spend the rest of the film wishing she could undo what she’s done. The performances are solid, and the characters feel well-developed, existing in shades of gray—no one is purely good or purely evil. The mother comes across as cold at times, but also selfish, distant, loving, caring, and concerned. Similarly, the daughter displays anger, sadness, respect, and affection. The supernatural presence feels similar to how the shark is presented in *Jaws*, mostly obscured and out of focus, with only occasional glimpses. This approach has both positive and negative aspects. Horror enthusiasts might find it disappointing, while those who prefer thrillers could consider it excessive. Certain choices made by the characters are difficult to accept, and the conclusion didn’t quite deliver a strong impact, but overall, it's a well-crafted, subdued film. 6/10
