The film maintains a striking visual appeal while an underlying sense of threat persists. Decaë’s cinematography showcases vibrant seascapes, sharply tailored clothing, and spacious settings with such clarity that danger can easily go unnoticed. Delon portrays Ripley with graceful composure; Ronet's carefree gentleman realizes the peril too late. The narrative occasionally falters, preventing it from reaching its full potential, but compared to more recent versions, this one feels more stylish, efficient, and disturbing. This would be a perfect image for a passport photo of Ripley.
