Pulimurugan fulfills all anticipations. Director Vyshakh’s career includes both successes and failures, but this new Mohanlal movie will likely be the most significant achievement in his filmmaking journey. Vyshakh certainly understands how to utilize Mohanlal's popularity effectively. The film contains several sequences specifically created to excite the actor’s fans and elicit cheers, applause, and whistles. The central theme of Pulimurugan involves conflict between humans and animals. It is a straightforward movie primarily intended for entertainment purposes; it doesn't deeply explore the moral aspects of this struggle. The narrative unfolds in the made-up village of ‘Pulioore,’ which exists alongside a forest and experiences attacks from wildlife. When a tiger enters populated areas and begins killing people, the villagers look to Pulimurugan. He is highly skilled at tracking, locating, and hunting tigers, and there's an explanation for his dedication to this task. As a child, he witnessed his father being attacked by a tiger; afterward, with assistance from his uncle, he killed the tiger responsible for his father’s death and continues this work as a service to his community. The cinematography is exceptional, representing Shaji’s finest work and distinguishing itself within Malayalam cinema history. The scenes depicting tiger hunts are exceptionally well-executed and represent the film's strongest element. Considerable research and effort were invested in crafting these sequences, with remarkable results. The intense action is another noteworthy aspect of the movie, thanks to Peter Hein, who has consistently raised the bar for stunt choreography.
