Despite numerous negative comments I’d heard about this film, I ended up being pleasantly surprised. The initial storyline is engaging, and the actors are generally good. Theron and Elba both delivered solid performances, but Rapace and Fassbender were particularly noteworthy. However, the script has several issues. Some characters behave in ways that don't make sense, various plot points remain unclear, the character played by Pearce is disappointing, and the alien spaceship’s destruction—along with Theron’s character’s death—is simply absurd. Still, it wasn’t an unpleasant experience overall, and I am eager to see what happens next in this narrative.
