It’s a fairly standard offering within its genre, not exactly groundbreaking, yet it ended up having more merit than I initially thought. I went in bracing myself for an overly contrived comedic and awkward teen romance, but there was actually some depth present. And thankfully, the actors didn't grate on my nerves, which is always welcome. The plot developments are fairly predictable from the very beginning, though that didn’t prevent me from finding it enjoyable—though not overwhelmingly so. Aimee Teegarden and Thomas McDonell work well together as a couple, while Danielle Campbell and Joe Adler’s characters proved more compelling than they initially appeared. Dean Norris also makes an appearance; he was already fairly recognizable thanks to his role in *'Breaking Bad'* at the time. *Prom* doesn’t offer anything particularly remarkable or original, it's rather straightforward, but I wouldn’t be truthful if I claimed to have disliked it. It’s perfectly acceptable.
