I came across a preview for Project Wolf Hunting, the South Korean horror film, and it seemed intriguing enough to put on my list of movies I want to see eventually. I didn’t anticipate getting around to watching it quickly since I figured it wouldn't be available online right away. Imagine my surprise when it appeared on HOOPLA! I felt like I needed to watch it then. I'm really glad that I did; it was a bloody and entertaining experience. Project Wolf Hunting takes place aboard a cargo ship traveling between the Philippines and South Korea. The passengers include some serious criminals along with law enforcement officers responsible for their security. A risky breakout results in something even more perilous being released. What’s not to love about Project Wolf Hunting's gore? There is an abundance of blood and brutal deaths, which I appreciated. I have a few favorite moments but won't give anything away. The story itself is good too. It moves at a fast pace. My only wish would be that the movie had explored some of the characters’ backgrounds more thoroughly; the narrative felt somewhat thin in places. Overall, it was an exciting film where you were constantly wondering who would survive and who wouldn't. The amount of blood and violence should please fans of the genre, and there is enough action to keep things moving forward. I certainly suggest checking this one out. It would be great if they decided to make a follow-up; I’d watch it without question. My rating: 3.75/5
