I’ve consistently found myself interested in narratives centered around time travel; my favorite book in that genre remains Time and Again by Jack Finney. It's disappointing that they never adapted it for the screen, likely because its approach is more understated and contains less action than many other science fiction stories throughout most of its length. However, there are numerous time travel films available, including this one. The choice to have teenagers operating the device and initially restricting their journeys to only a few weeks seems designed to control how frequently they can travel. Consequently, instead of attempting to avert some large-scale disaster, they’re using it to make minor adjustments to their own lives and correct past errors. It's not something I would consider a significant reveal if you’ve seen other time travel movies to say that things don’t unfold as anticipated. The story does have a few surprising turns, and I generally appreciated the rapport between the main actors. The dialogue occasionally felt stiff, but on the whole, the writing wasn't poor. My biggest issue was with the frequent use of a hand-held camera; I almost suspect it might have been included simply as a nod to another film that includes "Project" in its title. Regardless of the reason, it didn’t resonate well with me. The explanations for why they carried the camera everywhere, even when only one person was present, seemed unconvincing. Considering the decline in camera work quality, there wasn't a corresponding improvement in either the plot or character development. Still, this didn’t discourage me from continuing to watch it, although I hoped it would reach its full promise. I won’t discuss the ending so as not to spoil anything, except that I found it somewhat underwhelming.
