This movie really hit the spot for me. It’s an apocalyptic action/horror film set in a future or alternate reality. The story is uncomplicated and direct, with the protagonists consistently portrayed as good people, and the main character relentlessly delivers action throughout. There's no attempt to soften the hero by making them overly relatable or anything like that. The special effects and depictions of the apocalypse were impressive. Overall, it felt like a well-made film. The Blu-ray transfer was also excellent; the picture quality met expectations, and the DTS Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack was nicely balanced with impactful surround sound and low-frequency effects, making for a very enjoyable experience. The movie has a 5.7 rating on IMDB, which I think is too low, though it's probably not to everyone’s taste. The critics at Rotten Tomatoes gave it only 17%, but I stopped taking them seriously ages ago. It seems like many of those reviewers must be from somewhere like the American Bible Belt 😦
