I figured I’d revisit this film, as my previous viewing was years ago when it was released on DVD. My initial impression wasn't favorable, and while it isn't a particularly remarkable movie—the special effects were uneven at times—I still found it reasonably enjoyable, though ultimately forgettable. It's easy to see why they skipped detailed character development and extensive backstories that most viewers wouldn’t care about; however, when some of those characters meet their end, you also find yourself feeling indifferent. Despite being an unnecessary reimagining (you’re better off just watching the original from 1972), it's still acceptable enough. **3.0/5**
