A disappointing horror film. *Poltergeist* doesn’t really bring anything to the table. It isn’t a complete disaster to sit through, but there’s just not much that works well here. The plot is pretty standard and unremarkable, and the actors don't deliver performances that are particularly memorable. There also aren't many scares—which is a problem for a horror movie. The acting isn’t great overall; even Jared Harris appearing later in the film couldn’t make things better. If I had to choose someone who stood out besides Harris, it would be Sam Rockwell. The two younger actors, Kyle Catlett and Kennedi Clements, weren't bad, though. This is one I won’t be watching again. It was pretty dull.
