This remake isn’t the absolute worst, but it's pretty unremarkable. It lacks any real spark; it feels flat, uninspired, and resembles something you might see on American television's Lifetime Channel—a reimagining of Tobe Spielberg’s chilling original film. I suspect Gil Kenan was brought on board simply because the story centers around a monstrous house, and he previously created such a memorable monster in another project, making his selection seem straightforward. However, it appears Kenan overlooked the need for engaging characters and genuinely frightening moments while crafting this possessed dwelling.
