It’s hard to say… I believe I might have found some enjoyment in it, though only slightly. I honestly can’t quite explain how. For the most part, I felt pretty detached from *'Polar'*, but toward the end, it did start to appeal to me somewhat. I tend to view the film as having two distinct sections: those scenes featuring Mads Mikkelsen and Vanessa Hudgens versus those without them. They’re really quite different, like night and day. Mikkelsen and Hudgens are clearly skilled performers, and by the time the credits rolled, they felt almost charming together. Any scene with them ranges from acceptable to fairly good—nothing spectacular, certainly—but their performances were a definite plus. Outside of them, I appreciate that the film fully embraces its graphic violence and somewhat excessive sexual content; it’s effective, barely. What doesn't quite land are the other characters who show up. Matt Lucas is inconsistent but generally acceptable, although none of the supposed elite assassin team really clicked with me. Ruby O. Fee, Fei Ren, and others attempt to make an impression, but as a group they just didn’t convey any sense of being tough or entertaining to watch... it was almost awkward. It's nowhere near being a great film, nor is it something I would enthusiastically suggest. However, it does provide some entertainment… just barely. I’d be interested in seeing Mads Mikkelsen and Vanessa Hudgens paired together again in this kind of story, which apparently will happen soon as they seem to be remaking the 2019 film already... with familiar people involved. That's quite interesting.
