It seemed like Paramount might continue their streak of successful, amusing, and genuinely touching live-action family movies—like they did with ‘Instant Family’ and this year's ‘Dora and the Lost City of Gold’—but ‘Playing with Fire’ falls short. It feels low-budget and unoriginal, preventing it from joining that group. Cena is likable in the film, but unfortunately, everything else isn’t particularly good.
