While I’m not entirely certain that it’s an exceptional movie, *Play Misty for Me* certainly succeeds in creating a disturbing atmosphere. Jessica Walter is primarily responsible for this effect. Clint Eastwood delivers a solid performance as director, but Walter's portrayal of the unsettling Evelyn Draper is truly remarkable and memorable. It was also nice to see Don Siegel, a frequent collaborator with Eastwood, appear briefly. I do have a few small criticisms; some of the editing feels slightly awkward at times, though it’s not really significant. Overall, I would suggest watching this film.
