Everyone should watch Platoon. This film launched Stone's career, and it’s regarded by Vietnam veterans as being exceptionally authentic. However, acknowledging those who deserve recognition, a significant portion of the movie's achievement can be attributed to military advisor Captain Dale Dye, who has been connected to numerous outstanding war films over the past two decades. Tom Berenger also deserves praise; his portrayal of Sgt. Barnes represents the high point of his acting career. Combining strong writing, excellent performances, and impressive visuals, Platoon is undoubtedly a timeless film.
