It manages to provide an acceptable experience, barely. I do enjoy *‘Planes’*, and I will admit it, even though it feels quite similar to *‘Cars 2’* in several instances; the most noticeable being the global race sequence. I'm not particularly fond of Dane Cook as Dusty, but I can’t help feeling content after watching it. It was expected that this would resemble the *‘Cars’* movies, considering it exists within the same cinematic world. Nevertheless, they should have made more effort to distinguish it, particularly concerning the core story and the characters involved. Aside from Cook, whose voice acting feels stiff in the main role, the rest of the cast is pretty good. Stacy Keach (Skipper), Priyanka Chopra (Ishani), and Teri Hatcher (Dottie) are all pleasant to watch. I’m truthfully not completely certain why I feel positively about this—I understand why others might dislike it, but I didn't. It earns a rating of 7 from me, just barely.
