Trying something new within a well-worn genre like slasher films, especially when the setting involves being lost in the wilderness, proves to be a challenge. This film does attempt that innovation and manages to avoid feeling clumsy in its efforts. The characters have enough individuality to draw you into their story. The moments of suspense are effective, the villain is genuinely frightening, and the performers convincingly depict the panic of their circumstances. It might not revolutionize anything, but it's far from being a disappointment.
