It’s nearly unsuccessful, however *'Pitch Perfect 3'* manages to have enough going for it to prevent the experience from being unpleasant. I didn’t find much enjoyment in it; it’s certainly the least impressive film of the trilogy. Nevertheless, there is still just barely enough substance to keep it from being truly awful—it comes close though. The reduced length is a positive aspect, and I thought the musical performances were better than those in *'Pitch Perfect 2'*; the finale featuring *Toxic* was entertaining. Anna Kendrick (as Beca) and Rebel Wilson (as Fat Amy) are still the best of the actors on screen. The other returning cast members don’t particularly distinguish themselves, nor do any of the new additions—though it was nice to see John Lithgow (as Fergus), even with his questionable accent, plus *'Timeless'* actor Matt Lanter (as Chicago) makes an appearance. The storyline is quite uninspired, but I didn’t really dislike it—almost, but not quite.
