I decided to see this one after watching the previous two, which were okay, but I wasn’t really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, my worries turned out to be justified. The story seemed pretty flimsy, and honestly, I often found myself wondering what was going on. There was a lot of singing and dancing, as you'd expect, and that was generally fine, though not quite up to the standard of the earlier films. My biggest issue, though, involved Fat Amy’s character and her father. While John Lithgow is usually an excellent performer, I was surprised when he was chosen for the role of an Australian; as someone from Australia myself, his accent felt inconsistent. Afterward, I couldn't help but think about other actors who could have played the part—John Jarratt immediately sprang to mind (just kidding). Also, it seems like Ruby Rose is constantly being cast in things. No offense intended, but she doesn’t seem to be a very strong actress, and her attempt at an American accent felt odd too. I didn't anticipate much from this film, and that's exactly what I got. I’m probably relieved they aren’t making any more of these movies. It gets a low rating because the plot was lacking, and it just seemed like a rehash of the same movie, but somehow worse.
