It might be the least impressive entry in the series; I need to watch *Pitch Perfect 3* again before making a final judgment, but right now it seems that *Pitch Perfect 2*'s over-the-top ambitions hold it back. The only part that really sticks with me is the conclusion, and even that doesn’t quite measure up to the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Finals from the first film. It just isn't as amusing, and feels stretched out—I firmly believe that Amy and Bumper’s subplot was totally unnecessary and didn’t have much impact, particularly given how little we see of Jesse and Beca, who essentially seem to be over. The competitive singing segments are awkward, and we barely witness the group preparing for Worlds beyond a short retreat. Honestly, I was discussing with a friend that the only way it makes sense for the Bellas to win Worlds against the Das Kapital Singers and Müz is because they were basically forced to win or face being forgotten—the emotional pressure was the only thing that gave them an edge. However, there’s a definite feeling of squandered possibilities. I'll always be a fan of the Bellas, though; they are my favorites, without question.
