It’s clear the filmmakers are laughing at us. I enjoy movies that don’t demand much thought; there's something relaxing about turning your brain off and just letting a film wash over you without worrying about deeper meanings or hidden messages. But it’s unacceptable when creators ask for more than that – when they want you to discard your intelligence and toss it away. Alexandre Aja’s 2010 version of *Piranha* was entertaining, even without the 3D; it had a playful quality about it. This film, however, is an insult to everyone involved. Everyone appreciates the beauty of women, regardless of personal preferences. However, relying on that as your primary appeal and catering only to a niche audience will lead to difficulties. John Gulager seems to be aiming for something like *Porky’s* for today's younger audiences, perhaps hoping a nod to Grindhouse films might win over the teenagers and skateboarders. Everything about this movie is awful – the performances, the clumsy attempts at building tension, jokes that fall flat, insensitive portrayals of characters, cheap-looking special effects, and so on. Claiming it’s intentionally tacky or meant to be humorous doesn't excuse it; poorly made movies are just that, particularly when they're created solely for profit. I think I’d rather swim with piranhas than endure another viewing of this film. 1/10
