A baby sandpiper emerges from its nest on the beach, encouraged by its mother to search for food along the water's edge. After hesitation, it makes its way out onto the sand but remains hungry. The mother then signals that it’s time for the chick to find its own meals, and this is when it meets the powerful ocean waves! Feeling shaken and a little scared, the small bird retreats back to its burrow, only to be encouraged to try again—this time with caution. A budding connection with a small crab could possibly ease some of those anxieties about the sea, and perhaps there will even be swimming or flying in its future. It's an enjoyable and well-crafted animated film that portrays these initial experiences in a distinctive, cheerful, and captivating way.
