Pig is a drama and thriller that feels grounded, genuine, and deeply affecting. Films like this are what truly constitute "Cinema" and form the foundation of Hollywood filmmaking. They deserve recognition regardless of whether they’re part of a larger series or produced by a major studio. I appreciate seeing movies like this, but very few in this style have resonated with me as profoundly as Joker from 2019 or The Pursuit of Happiness—those are individual films I particularly cherish. I saw Pig, and while the story wasn't what I would consider grand or sweeping, it was still well-made and respectable. As I mentioned earlier, only a select few movies in this genre manage to truly move me, and sadly, Pig didn’t quite reach that level. However, Nicolas Cage delivers an absolutely remarkable performance—an Oscar-worthy portrayal. The development of his character is exceptionally well done, and his acting is superb. I would recommend watching the film primarily for Nicola's work. The scene where the main character faced off against another person in a hotel was particularly impressive. It’s a poignant story about a man grappling with loss from both his past and present. If you enjoy films with that kind of artistic quality, you might find it appealing, but it isn’t necessarily for everyone.
