I watched "The Midnight Bloom" last night and I’m not sure what to make of it. The premise seemed really interesting – a botanist discovers a flower that blooms only under a blue moon and possesses strange properties – but the execution just didn't quite land for me. It felt like there was this amazing story struggling to get out, but it kept getting bogged down in unnecessary subplots about the botanist’s family drama. Honestly, I found those parts pretty boring and they distracted from what should have been the central mystery of the flower. The visuals were nice; the cinematography really captured the eerie beauty of the nighttime forest scenes. But even that couldn't save it for me. The pacing was off too – things felt rushed in some places and then dragged out in others. I kept waiting for something big to happen, but it never really did. It’s not a terrible movie, by any means; it just didn’t live up to the potential of its initial concept.
