The narrative itself is certainly impressive, keeping you engaged and invested throughout its duration, though I didn’t connect with the portrayal of the mother's grief. It wasn't clear that she truly grasped the magnitude of her loss; the emotional impact felt somewhat muddled. The depiction of that sense of bereavement could have been handled more effectively. A significant element missing was a meaningful exploration of the mother and son’s shared history through flashbacks—those were largely absent and didn’t add anything substantial. Numerous comedic instances and ongoing playful exchanges detracted from the story's dramatic weight, persisting even until the film’s conclusion. I believe greater consideration should have been given to portraying the genuine emotions between the mother and her child, who never truly knew her. My primary motivation for seeing this movie was Judi Dench; her acting was exceptional in conveying a range of complex feelings—moments of laughter, tears, and understanding. She brought an authenticity to the story.
