I saw this film a while back, around the time of its initial release, and I’ve just revisited it. It doesn't hold up as well for enjoyment now. It's hard to pinpoint exactly why, but it felt like something was missing in terms of vitality. There are several enjoyable smaller scenes, however the more significant ones don’t quite reach what they should. The courtroom sequences sometimes drag down the narrative, and I didn't find the final scene that determined the outcome believable. Despite this, the film held importance when it was released for dealing with AIDS, and the two main actors, even though their performances are subtle, manage to carry the story effectively.
