A heartwarming experience. This version of *Pete’s Dragon* is enjoyable. The story has a lot of emotional resonance. The visual effects are well-done, and the music is also good—especially later in the film. While it doesn't have huge stars attached, everyone involved does a solid job. Oakes Fegley is charming as Pete, but Bryce Dallas Howard likely gives the best performance. I appreciated Robert Redford’s part as Meacham too, although I wish he had been featured more—this applies to most of the other characters besides Pete, really. There are some memorable moments throughout, even though it sometimes feels like a combination of different movies—like *The Jungle Book* and *E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial*. Some of the characters aren’t completely well-developed, but not badly enough to be bothersome. It's moving. Definitely worth seeing.
