It’s common with adaptations that those who've read the book will likely find fault with nearly every alteration; however, people new to Jane Austen’s novel might be able to simply enjoy it as a movie. I fall into that second category and was pleasantly surprised. Even though the story unfolds along very familiar lines, often in a predictable and cliché way, Dakota Johnson delivers a wonderful performance, and there are some genuinely funny moments that help make for an agreeable experience. It's not particularly original or groundbreaking, but it’s still something I would suggest to people who like this type of film. Rating: B-
