The arrival of *Peninsula* generated considerable anticipation given its status as a follow-up to what many consider an exceptional zombie film. Importantly, this installment has no connection to its predecessor, *Train to Busan*, so viewers don't need prior knowledge of that earlier movie to understand what’s happening. The story centers on individuals who escaped Korea aboard a refugee vessel headed for Hong Kong. Four years later, these survivors return to an empty Korea with the goal of recovering money left behind. What seems like a straightforward mission becomes complicated when they discover Incheon isn't as desolate as they assumed. While *Peninsula* delivers abundant action sequences and impressive visual effects, it falls short in its supporting performances. The lead actors perform adequately, but the acting from the foreign characters is rather poor. Certain plot points and some of the action also stretch believability considerably. Despite these shortcomings, *Peninsula* remains a worthwhile film, deserving a place among the "Best Zombie Movies." It may not have matched the standard set by *Train to Busan*, though it’s possible that prequel simply established an unattainable level of quality.
