It’s true that Yeon Sang-ho’s energy is captivating, and though 'Peninsula' doesn't quite reach the level of excitement found in the original story it draws from, there's a certain enjoyment to be had—it’s agreeably silly and straightforward. However, if Sang-ho expects others to continue taking inspiration from his work, he needs to ease up on borrowing so obviously from other films.
