It was really charming. The suspense arises from becoming familiar with the characters; you find yourself caring about what happens to them. They aren't just generic teenagers stuck in a remote location. These are distinct people with histories and reasons for their predicament, caught in a self-created nightmare situation. The creature is exceptionally well done, and its appearance isn’t rushed, which would have lessened the impact. Instead, it’s gradually revealed through background information and increasing tension until it's genuinely scary. I enjoyed watching this film, and I suggest it to anyone considering a road trip.
