"Camille," Makita Samba’s work, appears to be central to the narrative, centering on a teacher who moves in with "Émilie" (Lucie Zhang). It doesn't take long before they begin a relationship, though his reluctance toward serious commitment leads him to pursue "Nora" (Noémie Merlant), an estate agent, with whom he has a sexual encounter that leaves her feeling unfulfilled. This may be connected to the fact that she was recently confused with a porn star ("Amber Sweet" - Jehnny Beth) by people at her college, resulting in embarrassment and ridicule. She then decides not only to discover who started this rumor but also to connect with the actress herself—a connection that develops over time. The shifting timelines and interwoven plots contribute to a slower rhythm, and while the title suggests a certain intensity, the film lacks it upon viewing. It felt more like a soap opera to me, featuring sex scenes that were rather impersonal and not particularly alluring. There are occasional moments of levity, and the acting—particularly from Merlant—is decent, but the movie lingers too much on Parisian scenery, and what little plot there is gets lost within an unremarkable production that black-and-white photography couldn't truly improve. I’m happy I saw it, but I wouldn’t feel compelled to watch it again.
