Parachute feels deeply personal, stemming from a real-life experience and offering insight into how much this project means to its maker. Brittany Snow frequently mentions being open with her emotions, and her work behind the camera seems to confirm that vulnerability extends beyond her acting roles. Parachute is full of details about her that become apparent when watching her interviews—they appear in her dialogue, her way of moving, even though it’s not intended as a direct portrayal. Courtney Eaton did an excellent job with her role, and so did Thomas Mann. The entire film, along with the actors' performances, conveyed a sense of kindness, respect, and understanding. It doesn’t sensationalize the subject matter like many other films do; it avoids disturbing imagery and remains true to the story it tells without exaggerating the characters’ suffering. People cause harm to themselves and others, but things can ultimately improve. A parachute might ease the impact of a fall, but it won't prevent it entirely.
