It feels like a fresh take on Groundhog Day, though it manages to be enjoyable regardless of that connection. The original film didn't bother with explanations for its premise, but Palm Springs does offer some discussion of scientific concepts and potential consequences – although I won’t reveal any specifics. The storyline proves more intricate than initially apparent, which is a definite strength. There are humorous moments, and the actors playing the main characters have a good rapport. Each repetition of the day had enough variation to prevent it from feeling repetitive, like just seeing a slightly altered version of the same events unfold again. Ultimately, it was an entertaining film. It’s not something I'll be rushing back to watch repeatedly, but if given the chance to see it with someone who hasn’t already experienced it, I would gladly do so. People often ruin movies by giving away plot points, and I certainly don’t appreciate that when it happens to me, so I prefer to simply let others enjoy them as I did.
