A staggering 160 minutes... two hours and forty minutes… really? This film, *Paint Your Wagon*, is just tedious and feels like a complete misspend of time. The length is baffling; the story didn’t need to be stretched out so much, and even the songs aren't enough to sustain it. There are moments that work reasonably well, but they get lost in all the unnecessary padding. I can say that Lee Marvin, Clint Eastwood, and Jean Seberg kept me from completely disliking it, because they all deliver good performances regardless of how bad the movie is overall. It’s initially funny to watch Marvin and Eastwood singing, since you wouldn't naturally picture those actors doing so. I’m not claiming they are skilled singers, but their attempts at it create a humorous effect – which seems to be what the filmmakers were going for. I really wish this was trimmed down; cutting an hour would make a huge difference without sacrificing anything important. It’s just a slog to get through, sadly.
