Dhanush’s entry into directing is centered on themes of first love and portraying a respectable male figure. It's clear he’s among the most talented actors working today, and this film is certainly above average. The characters and underlying message showed promise, but the story felt constrained by conventional storytelling techniques intended for wider appeal; it would have been stronger as a straightforward drama devoid of songs and improbable action scenes. The movie follows a well-known former stunt coordinator who believed he was content in his later years with his son and family—until recurring problems consistently let him down. This triggers an introspective journey, revealing flashbacks that explain how the story progresses and is conveyed through emotional depth. The narrative is divided into three sections, each enjoyable, though the third proved to be the most compelling. Both Rajkiran and Dhanush delivered solid performances. The soundtrack was a letdown; one piece of background music closely resembled the score from ‘3’. Aside from the action sequences and musical numbers, the film’s merits lie elsewhere. It suggests that with a focus on more grounded filmmaking, he has the potential to become an exceptional director for this kind of story.
