Vincent was simply trying to get his meal. I thought *Over the Hedge* was pretty unremarkable. The performers—Bruce Willis, Steve Carell, Wanda Sykes, Nick Nolte, and Thomas Haden Church among them—do what they can, and their presence probably kept me from giving it an even worse evaluation. Everything else just didn't resonate with me, from the uninspired story to the visuals and jokes. It’s genuinely something I expect to forget quickly. I acknowledge that I might not be the intended viewer, but regardless, the movie didn't manage to keep me engaged. I will mention that one bit did make me laugh—the THX ident sequence—because it was spot on! I recall both that and the Icon Entertainment logo scaring me as a kid when I watched DVDs at night. Maybe that was just me, though. Ultimately, my assessment of this 2006 movie is that it’s not good; I'm somewhat taken aback to see it has received relatively high ratings here—everyone has their own tastes, naturally. It does have a memorable song during the closing credits, which I will concede.
