It’s pretty wild! Set during Viking times, the story involves an extraterrestrial who makes an unplanned arrival on Earth and inadvertently brings along a massive alien creature called the Moorwen. After joining forces with one group of Vikings, he gets pulled into a conflict they're already having with another Viking tribe. Essentially, it’s like Predator but set in the Viking era—a deliberately silly blend of science fiction and berserker action. Jimmy Caviezel delivers his usual intense, tough-guy performance, John Hurt clearly enjoys hamming it up, and Ron Perlman seems content to collect a paycheck by doing a lot of growling. Despite its low-budget TV movie feel, the film is enjoyable thanks to its unusual concept and the creation of a genuinely interesting monster (the special effects are surprisingly decent). It’s solid genre entertainment for those who aren't looking for anything too serious. 6/10
