The filmmaker behind Back Country essentially duplicated that wolf movie, but did so poorly. Numerous issues arise from both a naturalistic and hunting standpoint. The film takes its basis in a real bear encounter. A pack of healthy wolves has never been known to attack anyone in the Western Hemisphere; this fantastical element was entirely fabricated by the writer-director, which is why the final product doesn’t work out well.
