It’s easy to overlook how clever Out Cold really is. The film quietly weaves in elements reminiscent of Casablanca regarding its narrative framework, while consistently delivering jokes through sharp lines and unexpected visual humor. Ultimately, it makes a point about gentrification and the damage it can inflict on what it intends to protect. However, at its heart, it’s simply an entertaining movie for those who appreciate films from the early 2000s. It contains some references that haven't aged well, as well as crude humor and other oddities, but it's also genuinely funny and offers plenty of memorable one-liners if that appeals to you.
